Special Events

Each year, your local Red Cross hosts events in the community to raise awareness of our work, network with our community partners and supporters, and raise money to continue to respond, prevent, and prepare for disaster.

There are plenty of ways you can get involved whether it's through sponsorship, joining the planning committee, or attending the event to show your support for your local chapter of the American Red Cross.

Adopt-A-Day of Disaster Relief

Every one knows that the American Red Cross responds to large scale disasters – hurricanes, floods and tornadoes. But did you know that the volunteers and staff of your local chapter actually respond to a disaster every 37 hours? It’s true! House fires are the most common form of disaster and they occur daily here in the Catawba Valley.
 

On average, your local chapter spends $1,552 each day on the immediate, emergency needs of local disaster victims. Food, clothing, shelter, life-sustaining medications, eyeglasses and mental health care.
 

We invite you – your company, school, organization, church or family, to help your neighbors in their time of need – Adopting a Day, Week or Month of Disaster Relief.
